Senior Interior Designer

Our rapidly growing business seeks a Senior Interior Designer who can lead projects from start to finish, executing and overseeing every step along the way to project completion. This designer has strong creative design skills, technical skills in CAD and 3D software, project management, strong positive leadership, and outstanding client, contractor, and vendor relationships.

The position is responsible to fully manage interior design projects simultaneously, both residential and commercial, from concept to completion and provide exceptional client relations. The position will lead, motivate, and manage a team at various levels to ensure that the design vision comes to life within the firm’s aesthetic parameters and is completed on time and on budget. The role includes time focused on team leadership, coaching and developing staff imparting design expertise.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree required, prefer in Interior Design or Architecture

  • Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in interior design or architecture firm

  • Must have at least two year’s experience leading people and design projects from start fo finish on time and on budget

  • A great design sensibility and a strong portfolio

  • 3D modeling experience using Chief Architect, AutoCAD, Sketch Up, or comparable software pgram

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite programs, Slack and 3D-rendering programs

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Organized and can manage multiple priorities

  • Car and a valid driver’s license required for sourcing and site visits

  • Please note that this job is an on-site position located in Salt Lake City, UT.


  • Lead all phases of design from concept through construction and installation, including design development, research, sourcing, specifications, and documentation to execute an exquisite, profitable design on time

  • Train, develop, coach staff and foster a positive motivating professional environment

  • Lead and collaborate with clients, contractors, vendors, and internal staff working together to create a beautiful design and resolve issues as they arise

  • Create client budgets and schedules

  • Create detailed permit and construction drawing sets, including plans, elevations, and sections

  • Prepare and deliver design concepts for client presentations

  • Specify furnishings, lighting, accessories, etc.

  • Maintain or oversee project files and materials utilizing company product management software
